Web 2.0 tool - MagToo
The Web 2.0 tool I have chosen is MagToo. MagToo allows the user to create slideshows and 360 degree panorama shows. Then the user can share their creation on Facebook, Myspace, Flickr, Friendster, Blogger, and more! Another cool aspect of MagToo is that the user can create travelogues on Google maps. The site is free to use and lets the user share anywhere – profile, blog, website, etc. As stated before, the user has three main options – create a MagShow, which is essentially a slide show of the user’s images, create a Stitch 360, which is a panoramic slide show, or Map It, which is a way for the user to share images from their trips with others. The user can also view others’ slideshows on the site; the user can sort by category, for example trips, comedy, sports, etc. or sort by top favorites, most viewed, top rated, etc. There is also a search option, if the user knows the name of creator or of the slideshow they wish to view. This is a great tool for family and friends that wish to share their memories in a creative way. The site is very user-friendly and features awesome design options. When creating a slideshow, the user has many options for preset designs. From there the user can choose from different transitions, transition speeds, skins, themes, backgrounds, music (pretty cool option), and sizes. There is also the option to upload images from various locations: My files, Facebook, Myspace, Flickr, Photobucket, Hi5, and more. After the user is done with their creation, they simply save and share!
I chose to create a slideshow. I kept it pretty simple, but there are so many features to choose from! This Web 2.0 tool is easy, enjoyable, and can look really cool on websites and blogs! The one I created is located in the above post.
For sharing, the site allows you to: directly post to Blogger (or whatever site you choose from - Myspace, Facebook, etc), copy the code, or copy the url. I chose to directly post, just to see what happened. I don't think it even took a second to show up; I refreshed my screen and there it was!
Definitely check this site out – I was pretty impressed!
